Chrome: Worth using?

Google’s long-anticipated Web browser hit the market in recent weeks and plenty of technology pros love it.
In fact, one CTO we talked with recently – an admitted Mac fan – said the “Chrome” beta was almost good enough to get him to use a PC again.
Faint praise, maybe. But most of the experts who’ve reviewed the new browser seem pretty impressed.
What are the pros raving about? Chrome’s popular features include:
- Page index searching, a giant leap beyond a simple history feature
- AJAX, Web 2.0 optimization, and
- Streamlined user interface.
Reviewer praise is tempered with a few warnings. Among them:
- wait for patches and updates before rolling Chrome out to business users, especially in light of its reported vulnerability to carpet bombing, and
- look for Google to add its toolbar and Page Rank meter to Chrome.
