Once the darling of the PC world, computer maker Dell is reported to be scrambling these days in an attempt to regain its footing in the tough economy.
Even before the global markets tanked, Dell was facing stiff competition. Its share price has been somewhat dismal and, while competitors have been making acquisitions and diversifying, Dell stuck with its time-tested strategy.
But now the company seems to be starting a game of catch up, which could be tough in these rocky financial times.
Word is the company’s poised to make some big acquisitions and to broaden its range of offerings. Customers — especially corporate and business customers — will want to keep an eye on which direction the company takes.
