Did you know any hacker with the know-how and tools can remotely attack your users’ phones by sending a simple SMS text?

Security experts at Trust Digital are warning IT managers about two methods of attack by text. The “Midnight Raid Attack”  strikes at night when users are asleep by sending a text that can open a smartphone’s browser and send it to a malicious Web site. The site pushes a file out to the phone that steals the user’s data.

A similar attack sends a control message over a Wi-Fi network and uses a toolkit to sniff traffic for the user’s e-mail log-in information.

As the popularity of smartphones continues to soar, these text hacks are sure to become a security nightmare.

Look for security software that can protect user’s phones from text attacks.
