iPhone app for Dummies

So when it comes time to plunk down cold, hard cash for an iPhone app, what’s top of the list?

As of right today, it’s “The Moron Test,” which rings up at a whopping 99 cents to download from the App Store.

The game sits atop the iPhone app store list as the No. 1 paid application for the popular smartphone.

“Normally” say its sellers, the app goes for $2.99. And by normally, we’re not sure what the folks at DistinctDev mean, but we’ll take their word for it that this is a real $2.99 value.

What do users get for their money? The game features 7 levels, from moron to genius with some really dumb questions and a timer. Oh, and  “You’ll love the theme music!” the promotional copy exclaims.

But as one reviewer put it, the game is: “Very disappointing. I guess I am a moron now for paying 99 cents for this junk.”

Despite this customer’s slagging, the game gets 4 stars out of five in the app rankings.

Now I’ve got to decide if I’ve got 99 cents to spare so I can find out just how dumb I really am … Heck, I can get my kids to tell me that for nothing!
