As the iPhone’s getting more popular in the enterprise, the demand for business applications is likely to soar — along with the number of apps available. Sorting through the good ones can take time many folks don’t have.

Not to worry, some intrepid online writers will do it for you.

Steve Walling over at Read Write Enterprise has compiled a good list of nine business apps that cover chores from file sharing and mobile meetings to serious data analysis and business intelligence.

Walling’s list includes:

  • Roambi
  • Box.net
  • Fuze Meeting
  • Bump
  • iXpenseit
  • Things
  • FreshBooks
  • Yammer
  • Salesforce Mobile

The best news: None of them cost more than $10 and many of them cost nothing at all.

As for the iPhone acceptance in most companes, recent surveys of IT managers show a growing acceptance — and in some cases, a preference — for the smartphone.

Users love it, for the most part, and new software upgrades are making it easier to connect to most company’s infrastructure.

This along with the broad array of business applications to choose from have made it much for likely IT will be called on to support the phone, and find ways it can help users work remotely and efficiently.

These apps could be a good start.
