I have to agree with Pam.
I too upgraded but over a month ago (MAPS program) and had no issues at all once I found the right video driver.

The in place upgrade over Vista Business did take a very long time to complete but the end result is a system far more stable, much quicker to boot & shut down but most of the commands and tools I used in XP are gone, moved or have been renamed - BAD CALL MS.

It's going to take me a very long time to relearn this OS and GUI. It just isn't as intuitive as earlier versions of windows. Why move and/or rename features people have been using since the early 1990's? It just doesn't make sense.

I upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista last night without a hitch. So far, so good.

Cost is one reason why I upgraded rather than performed a clean install; plus, with a clean install, all programs have to be reloaded and data restored. It's very labor intensive.

Just to go on the record -- I loathed Vista. I have two other computers with XP, and have no plans to upgrade them at the moment. From what I understand, it is difficult to upgrade from XP, and it involves pretty much a clean install. My XP ain't broke, so I don't need to fix it.

What professional would want to upgrade an OS as opposed to doing a clean install?
