Want to save on pricey international phone calls Blackberry users make as they scoot around the globe?

Global wireless operator Truphone is testing a new service for BlackBerry phones that the company says will make it less expensive and simpler for users to call overseas.

Truphone Anywhere, which works in 33 countries, operates with local carriers. The service reduces international call costs to as little as six cents a minute.

Instead of requiring the user to remember what to do, Truphone Anywhere asks whether the user wants to make a Truphone call when an international number is dialed.

Truphone, which typically uses Wi-Fi connections for VoIP calls, has been available on the Symbian
OS-based Nokia devices and Apple’s iPhone.
