Tech jobs with the lowest stress

If you believe the folks over at the CareerCast.com, among the least stressful careers out there are a few IT jobs. They include:
Computer systems analyst and software engineer.
That’s probably news to a lot of systems analysts and software engineers who are battling deadlines, budget cuts and staff reductions like the rest of us.
The list took into account 21 unique stress factors: Things like deadlines, life and death situations, and physical demands.
What topped the list? Surgeons and commercial airline pilots.
Languishing down there at the bottom of the list with the systems analysts and software engineers are such pressure cooker jobs as Actuary, Mathematician, Historian, Astronomer and Dietitian.
Personal note: It was both gratifying and somewhat frigthtening to see that “reporter” ranked in the top ten most stressful jobs. However it was a bit annoying to see that being a watchdog for the free press ranked behind both “Real Estate Agent” and “Advertising Account Executive.”
Priorities folks, priorities.
